Popular Gothic Soap Opera Marks First Show by a Gay Network to Be Renewed for a Third Season
LOS ANGELES – November 6, 2006 – here!, America's premium gay television network, has given the greenlight to begin production on the third season of the popular network soap opera Dante's Cove. Production on the series' third season, which will consist of six, one-hour episodes, is slated to begin in early 2007. Dante's Cove marks the first series by any gay television network to be renewed for a third season.
"The success of Dante's Cove, which has built a loyal fan base over its first two seasons, has helped build a solid foundation for the network," said Paul Colichman, Founder and CEO of here! Networks. "We are proud and excited to announce the shows renewal for a third, thrilling season."
Named "Best Soap Opera" by The Advocate and praised by many other media outlets, including Edge Boston, which said "here! TV's 'Dante's Cove' takes fantasy to a whole new level," the sexy Gothic serial centers on the residents of the Hotel Dante, a group of twenty-somethings immersed in the trials and tribulations of life, love, breaking up and addiction. Add to that a hot young cast, steamy sex and a touch of the supernatural and you have Dante's Cove, the gayest and sexiest guilty pleasure on television.
Season one introduced viewers to the array of characters living at the Hotel Dante, while season two picked up even more viewership by adding character depth and provocative storylines that left fans wanting more. Now, with fan-favorite actors set to return, season three promises not to disappoint with even more character twists and developed plotlines that will surely satisfy Dante's Cove's faithful fans.
For those fans who want to explore Dante's Cove beyond the small screen, more information can be found on the show's official website at Dante's Cove. The site offers character and actor bios, video clips, a guide to the show's mysterious dark art of Tresum and a new series of Podcasts hosted by popular DJ Ben Harvey.
