I've seen a lot of meme's going around lately, but this one actually looks rather cool. Shamelessly stolen from [livejournal.com profile] sheafrotherdon

Go! Comment me.

THE CHARACTER RATING MEME
luvxander: (Liberty)
Things you have to believe to be a Republican today.

+ Jesus loves you, and shares your hatred of homosexuals and Hillary Clinton.
+ Saddam was a good guy when Reagan armed him, a bad guy when Bush's daddy made war on him, a good guy when Cheney did business with him, and a bad guy when Bush needed a "we can't find Bin Laden" diversion.
+ Trade with Cuba is wrong because the country is Communist, but trade with China and Vietnam is vital to a spirit of international harmony.
+ The United States should get out of the United Nations, and our highest national priority is enforcing U.N. resolutions against Iraq.
+ A woman can't be trusted with decisions about her own body, but multi-national corporations can make decisions affecting all mankind without regulation.
+ The best way to improve military morale is to praise the troops in speeches, while slashing veterans' benefits and combat pay.
+ If condoms are kept out of schools, adolescents won't have sex.
+ A good way to fight terrorism is to belittle our long-time allies, then demand their cooperation and money.
+ Providing health care to all Iraqis is sound policy, but providing health care to all Americans is socialism. HMOs and insurance companies have the best interests of the public at heart.
+ Global warming and tobacco's link to cancer are junk science, but Creationism and Intelligent Design should be taught in schools.
+ A president lying about an extramarital affair is an impeachable offense, but a president lying to enlist support for a war in which thousands die is solid defense policy.
+ Government should limit itself to the powers named in the Constitution, which include banning gay marriages and censoring the Internet.
+ The public has a right to know about Hillary's cattle trades, but George Bush's driving record is none of our business.
+ Being a drug addict is a moral failing and a crime, unless you're a conservative radio host. Then it's an illness and you need our prayers for your recovery.
+ You support states' rights, but the Attorney General can tell states what local voter initiatives they have the right to adopt.
+ What Bill Clinton did in the 1960s is of vital national interest, but what Bush did in the '80s is irrelevant.

Feel free to pass this on.
Friends don't let friends vote Republican.

An American English meme )

My Brain's Gender )

Not really that much to report lately. Job's going okay, things seem to be settling down between the boss and I, especially now that he knows I'm not against going job hunting and that there are other opportunities out there for me, should I be so inclined.

OH, and while out shopping with my mom tonight, I ran into a lady I worked with about a year or so ago. After doing the catch up thing of 'How are you?' 'What are you up to now?' and everything, she just couldn't stop going on and on about how much better I looked and how much weight I've lost. Made me downright giddy. I couldn't stop smiling. Which made my mom, when I made it back to her, ask how many people I'd managed to maim on my way to the dairy cooler. How fab is that?

I totally hope I really have lost as much as people seem to think I have. I mean, I'm proud of what I've done so far, but 38 pounds in six months isn't really a lot.

One last thing - - - Anyone who's interested, I'm reposting all of my fics over at my new reading/writing journal, [livejournal.com profile] ceejxan. I've opened that one for my fic communities and am keeping this one for personal use. Though, you will still see fandom stuff all over the place here.

Love you guys.

And Now For Something Completely Different, A Tale of Fandom How Tos )

Owww, I hurt so much. Tonight we got very very long night. Huge truck worth of shipment that we had to get sorted and rolled out onto the floor. My third day of being a manager, second day of being in charge on my own, went not great.

First, I messed up one cashier's deposit. I totally forgot to enter her cash when putting her paperwork into the computer. Had to contact IT and get fussed at by them for all the extra work this puts them through with trying to fix our deposit. Then, though they weren't supposed to do anything until morning, they went ahead and did it anyway, making my end of night deposit appear to be over by almost $250. Major fixing to do on that. But, I left it for the GM tomorrow. Then, I hit a wrong button and accidentally shut down the server for our register network, during the middle of a huge rush. I wanted to cry. Called the GM at home in a major panic to see how to fix it, but felt stupid when told that there was a reset button. *eyeroll*

Didn't manage to finish sorting shipment until 11:30pm. Apparently, no one told GM that I'd never run a shipment shift before and had no clue how anything was supposed to be sorted and stacked. Luckily, Aaron was there, and he knew how it was done, so he helped a LOT.

I nearly collapsed at one point because I was much much too busy to stop for lunch. So I grabbed a cup of coffee, that's the good columbian [livejournal.com profile] obsessedmuch, and went right back to work. Idiot that I am, I'd taken my diet pill anyway and my blood sugar dropped so low that I actually fell because I was feeling so weak. Not hurt though, just feel like an idiot. Must remember to pick up some more snack crackers when I get paid. After renewing my LJ, purchasing user pics, paying the car insurance, paying my mother, gassing up my car, donating to my writercon fund, and praying that I have somewhere to stay at writercon (since I haven't heard from my planned room mate in 40 forevers), I should have just enough for about 3 packs of those crackers. Gonna have to spread those out.

There's a lot more I'd like to say here, but I'm so tired I can barely keep my eyes open, and I'm still weak from not eating. Hopefully, my tea will calm my brain enough for me to get some sleep.

See you guys later.

I posted to [livejournal.com profile] redeem147 so now, I bring you this.

"If you read this, please post a comment with a COMPLETELY MADE UP AND FICTIONAL memory of you and me. It can be anything you want - good or bad - BUT IT HAS TO BE FAKE.

When you're finished, post this little paragraph on your LJ and be surprised (or mortified) about what people DON'T ACTUALLY remember about you."

4. Find photos of the first 15 artists/bands that come up (no repeats and no cheating).
5. Have people guess who the artists/bands are. (Comments are screened)

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I need more diversity, I know. )

I finally got my LJ Mindmap that I gakked from [livejournal.com profile] entrenous88 so very long ago. I've updated my friends list several times since I filled out the form for this, so if you're name isn't on here, I'm sorry.

CJ's MindMap )

Sunday, January 22nd, my mom and I went up to Firestone and shelled out close to $300 to get four brand new tires for my car. Yesterday, I had a flat. Was over at [livejournal.com profile] byakuganchick's house and her dad changed it and looked it over for me, there was absolutely nothing wrong with this tire. No punctures, nothing. Went today to get it fixed and the guys at Firestone have found a large hole in the side wall of said tire. I'm wanting to know how a large hole appeared in this tire overnight while it was sitting in the trunk of my car. Oh well, it only cost $8 to get a new tire. We love protection plans.

Finally have an appointment with the dentist for tomorrow. Have I mentioned that I don't like dentists? They scare me more than clowns scare Xander. But, on the other hand, I have got to get this tooth seen about or it's going to drive me insane. Trust me, having a huge hole in your tooth with an exposed nerve, is not a fun way to go insane. And pain pills? My tooth laughs at you. HA HA.

I think that's about it for right now. Other than having to go in and close tonight at work, which is always fun. If I think of anything else, I'll be spamming you guys from time to time.

Oh yes, before I go. I found out what my bday gift is from my mom, even though it won't be here for a while yet. I'm gettin' me a laptop. Go me!

Supposedly if you've seen over 70 of these movies, you have no life. Number the ones you've seen. Put your score in the header and repost.

Let's keep the love train going. Choo-Choo.

Reply to this post, and I'll tell you one of the reasons why I

Then you post this in your own journal so the love train can continue chugging down the tracks we call LJ.
